Frome Carnival

What an incredible weekend supporting the Frome Carnival! With a whopping £3,600 raised so far (final figures still to come), the community spirit was nothing short of amazing.

Our team of 15 Wessex 4×4 Response volunteers started their day bright and early at 8:30am. The task ahead was mammoth: laying down 400 road cones, setting up 61 barriers, and installing over 50 road signs to prepare for the afternoon and evening processions.

We’re proud to say we were part of a larger team of more than 100 volunteers, which included 60 marshals and stewards, as well as collectors, first aiders, recovery and security operatives. A marshals briefing at 5pm got everyone into their positions, ready for road closures at 6pm and the procession kick-off at 7pm.

The event saw an incredible turnout with approximately 12,000 members of the public in attendance, contributing to the fantastic atmosphere. Post-procession, our team was back on the road, removing all signs, barriers, and cones to reopen the routes for the public.

We’re thrilled to have played a part in such a successful event, and we extend our thanks to all volunteers and attendees for making it a great afternoon and evening.
