Welcome to Wessex 4x4 Response Association, a registered charity providing 4x4 Resonse support throughout the South West peninsular from South Gloucestershire, to Cornwall.
What is a 4x4 Response team?
Teams of volunteers prepared to use their own vehicles and give up their time exist throughout the country to provide logistic assistance to Category one and two responders; as defined in the Civil Contingencies Act; and other Voluntary agencies.
Examples of our support can be seen on our attendances page. We have agreements with various user bodies in all our counties and Government Office South West varying from formal MOUs to 'per occasion' agreements.
We can be called by any statutory or voluntary agency (click the callout link for more information), but not by the general public who should call the appropriate Emergency Service.
Like all Response teams we have a number of expenses, which have to be met these are primarily training and equipment costs such as H.V. clothing for all members. We are always appreciative of any financial support that can be offered and will acknowledge it on our links page.
