AOB
A wide range of matters was discussed freely under AOB including possible methods of fund raising, recruiting, general publicity, training courses etc.
A proposal was put by Gavin Holman Seconded by Ian Stephens that It is a requisite for all OPERATIONAL members to be at least 25 years old , to have held a licence to drive their vehicle for at least 3 years and have no more than three penalty points. --- (Secretary-- note operational in this context means likely to respond to a call-out on behalf of Wessex 4x4 Response)
An amendment was put by John Packer seconded Roland Westlake that the points limit should be 6 points.
This amendment was passed unanimously.
The amended motion “It is a requisite for all OPERATIONAL members to be at least 25 years old , to have held a licence to drive their vehicle for at least 3 years and have no more than six penalty points (Secretary-- note operational in this context means likely to respond to a call-out on behalf of Wessex 4x4 Response)
This amended motion being acceptable to proposer and seconder was put to the floor and passed unanimously. This thus becomes a be-law of the Association as per clause 29 of the constitution.
This would mean additional work for the Secretary, however John Tidmarsh offered to take the role of membership Secretary, this offer was accepted.
Anton De Leeuw was introduced to the meeting by Roland and then gave a general presentation on the services that his company could offer to members. One matter that was obvious from his presentation is that both locally and nationally we are in need of an events co-ordinator and publicity officer. The meeting which was declared closed at 12.15 was followed by a winch and high lift jack safety awareness presentation. It is hoped that such sessions on various topics will occur approximately every 6-8 weeks.
